Southwestern Michigan College began collecting Round Oak artifacts in 1968 when Art Greenwood, the last person out the door when Round Oak closed in the 1950s, donated a substantial collection to the college. The college and then the Museum at Southwestern Michigan College continued adding to this amazing collection chronicling the history of this important Dowagiac business. The Dowagiac Area History Museum has access to that collection and has been adding to the collection since the transfer in 2012. The collection contains well over 1,000 items, including stoves, photographs, documents and advertising.
