Framed photgraph of the Round Oak Band, taken in 1931 on the steps of the Dowagiac Post Office. (same picture as 1982—0072.0608) It has a 1" wooden frame painted gold and black, lots of the gold has peeled off. The frame makes it a 13"x15.5". Below the picture is written "1st Prize Kalamazoo—Fair—Aug. 23—1924". Surrounding the picture are all 4 sides is a 1.75" gray, textured area. Has the look of a wooden frame, printed on paper. This picture is in much better condition than 1982—0072.0608.
B/w photograph of men in dark uniforms holding musical instruments, standing on steps of a brick building, which has been identified as the Dowagiac Post Office. On the left upper arm of the uniforms are circular Round Oak band patches. Large Round Oak Concert Band drum center foreground. Identified as Round Oak Concert Band on Post Office steps, c. early 1930s. 22 band members. This photograph appeared in 6/20/1928 Dowagiac Daily News, with identification as follows, from left to right, front row: Frank Wheaton and John Venton; second row: William Schuchert, Fred Felkner, Bert Pullin, Albert Wenglarski, Duane Milham, Leonard Bright, Harry Skeeps; third row: William Grove, Martin Herold, John McDonald, Don Moore, Paul Wenglarski, Fred Smith; fourth row: Carlton Minshall, Charles Conaway, Elmer Clark, Clark McConnell, Leonard Wenglarski, Maurice Rector and Maurice Conaway.
