Rice served in the military from 1942 to 1945. He served in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater in 1944, where he piloted B—17 Bombers. He was attached to the 815 Squadron of the 483rd Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force. He flew 50 missions. Additional information in "Muniment File."
