Match safe, metal with hinged lid, with advertising for Round Oak Stove Company, c. 1902; metal with celludoid covered paper inserts for front and backside with advertising—— one side has Chief Doe—Wah—Jack and company information, "Round Oak Stoves, Ranges & Furnaces/ Made by Estate of P.D. Beckwith Dowagiac, Mich.", other side has image of a D model Round Oak stove with c. 1902 urn on top; match "striker" on bottom; date is from Round Oak collector Bill Krohne, who says he has seen a letter with reference to matchsafe dating to 1902

Bought from Ms. Connie Yore of St. Joseph, an antiques dealer. She purchased the item for $50 and offered it to sale to the Museum for $100 through her daughter, Megan Yore Norby, former SMC employee and friend of curator Steven Arseneau. Museum purchased the item for the offered price through its curatorial supplies budget.
