Heddon Collection : The Dowagiac Area History Museum's Heddon Collection
Date:
Nov. 1907
Description:
B/w mounted photograph of three men with rifles standing by six deer hanging from a rack in front of a bakery shop after hunting trip. Two are W.A. Stolley and Ed Still.

This photograph is misidentified above. Photograph was taken in Chetek, Wisconsin according to photographer's stamp on matboard and identified in pencil on backside as "Cheteck [sic], Wis. Nov. 1907." Men are identified as Charles ? (possibly Golden or Holden, but it does not appear to be Heddon), W.A. Stolley and Ed Still and "the deer were shot in Sawyer Co. on the east side of Chippewa River." Without doubt, the man on left is not Will Heddon, outside chance of him being Charles Heddon, or possibly a guide on the hunting trip (no Golden or Holden in Dowagiac directory from 1908). Heddon Co. briefly had a plant in Chetek at this time and Stolley was probably in the area on business. Edward Still lived in same house as Stolley at this time. SJA 2/16/2005
