Description:
Round Oak heating stove, size 20, c. 1870. Stove features a disconnected swingtop with finial atop (swingtop rests on top of stove). Top door has flower pattern and bottom door has "P.D. Beckwith/Dowagiac, Mich." with patent dates December 14, 1869 to February 11, 1873 cast , and cast iron door loop handle, doors are joined by single rod which connects it to stove body. Stove base has "Round Oak" cast into it and plain legs (no name). This stove is believed to be the second earliest model commercially produced by Round Oak Stove Company.

Notes:
Donor worked with stove collectors to donate stove to Museum. Collector Bill Krohne traded a stove of his for this stove so it would come to Museum. According to donor, this stove has been in the Superior area for many years.
